DIRT FARM, OTAKI.

What started as a place to escape, ride bikes and meet new people turned into one of the most memorable projects we have undertaken.

Hidden off the beaten track rests Dirt Farm. A family run retreat that has been the families life’s work so far.

It’s a place to escape the city, experience a taste of off the grid living enjoying some of the best views and bush tracks Aotearoa can provide so close to the city.

7 Glamping sites, 2 large meeting structures and pergolas were built along side the Dirt Farm family.

Rain, hail, snow even, mud, ruthless wind and beating sun put gear and bodies to the test.

The pergolas are positioned over 2 air BNB units, while meeting room and whare-kai are over the hill where the glamping sites rest. All have their own yurts with all the comforts of home, separate bathrooms and even gas hot water.

We assisted with the major structural requirements, making sure things were built to last the continuously changing environment.

During the project, we developed a system which allowed us to fully build the roof at the ground level and jacking it up to the finished height. This meant one builder could build the roof and lift it in a few days.

Many hands came together to work on these structures. It was a pleasure to be part of the projects we built there.

Be sure to look it up, go see for yourself.
