Brooklyn bathroom rebuild 2024

Our first project of 2024. This original Brooklyn villa needed a heavy handful of TLC.

We provided the customer with an architect, we outlined the process we were taking to remodel this zone and kept track of the drawings as they were prepared for council consent.

We knew before the job started that we were in for a full rebuild. Experience in this area allowed us to see that the zone had been renovated in the 60’s and again in the 80’s. Having this experience meant the clients received a realistic price and understood before the start what was going to happen.

It was a complete gut and rebuild. We needed to remove all the old framing and re-fit new studs while keeping the building envelop and roof structure intact.

A large window was completely rebuilt smaller to suit the new size providing cost savings to the client.

We also designed and built two large vanities to maximise the use of the vertical space to gain some storage back inside the bathroom and laundry.

A custom built cavity slider hides the recycled solid core door seamlessly behind the wall, matching the existing entry doors profiles throughout.

The skylight provides enough lighting throughout the zone to make it feel wide open and warm even through winter.

Both laundry and bathroom built to suit the customers individual needs while keeping the character features of the rest of the house.
